Vintage wooden pull-along Noah's Ark

Kurt Schiffler was born on April 6, 1896, in Gotha, Thuringia, Germany. He was a determined entrepreneur , endowed with an extraordinary combination of interests and talents. In addition to his fascination with mathematical and scientific subjects, he felt a connection to art, music, and education .

So it happened that after studying engineering at the Freiberg Mining Academy in Saxony and later at the Technical University of Stuttgart, he founded the Dusyma workshops on October 7, 1925 , producing and selling mandolins

During his visits to kindergartens, where he presented his instruments and offered seminars for kindergarten teachers, he was always troubled by the primitive and child-unfriendly furnishings. At times, 70 children were forced to sit crammed onto long wooden benches, with little opportunity for free development.

Kurt Schiffler decided to remedy this need. Dusyma soon began producing not only mandolins, but also chairs and tables , as well as play materials such as hand-painted color dominoes , colorful, washable wooden building blocks and color-matching tablets , and animal figures . The kindergarten equipment industry was born.

Kurt Schiffler was a talented inventor and invented a ruler with which diameter and symmetry measurements could be drawn and measured. The Schiffler point also stemmed from his mathematical talent. The original Dusyma plug-in building block proved to be a particular hit , and has adorned their logo ever since.
