This hand-woven towel is made from finely woven hemp and hand-embroidered with a charming brightly coloured picture of a child picking flowers. It's edged in lace and depicts the typical colours and design seen in household textiles from the Transylvanian region. It would make a lovely wall hanging. The pattern is repeated both ends.

The complex stitchwork of Romanian embroidery combines horizontal, vertical, and diagonal seams to create a specific pattern and texture. The geometric patterns used in weaving inspired earlier embroideries, and non-geometric floral motifs were introduced in the second half of the 19th century.
