Transylvanian hand-embroidered, ribbon edge girl with church picture

This sweet embroidery piece was most likely handmade by a young girl. The words mean "White dove flies over the village And carries my sorrowful soul". They were typically used as "splash-backs" and hung around a kitchen or other much-used surfaces to protect the walls.
