Vintage German paper mache fillable egg - medium

German paper mâché Easter eggs (Pappmaché Ostereier) are traditional, hollow candy containers produced mainly in the Thuringia region since the late 19th century. Often featuring intricate, lithographed, or hand-painted spring scenes, they were designed to hold treats and were popular exports to the US/Europe from the 1890s through the 1930s.
